Genesis – The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway
Should you only know Genesis for songs like Mama, Land of Confusion or I Can’t Dance, this will be a little disturbing. Still fronted by Peter Gabriel, the band here presents its only concept album and it actually is one of the most important ones of the classic progressive rock era. A surreal journey into the self of protagonist Rael that has everything from haunting ballads to hard rockers and progressive epics. It showcases the incredible skills of keyboardist Tony Banks, guitarist Steve Hackett and Mike Rutherford, one of the most underrated bass players of his time. Of course we shouldn’t forget Gabriel’s amazing vocals and while being among the most popular singers of the 80s, he we can hear Phil Collins as one of the greatest drummers ever.
